I chose Williams because of the culture and commitment to diversity. I worked for Williams Communications from 1998 through 2002. While I was employed elsewhere, I missed the energy and passion for excellence I had known at Williams.

I chose Williams because of my experience here as an intern. I learned so much more than I imagined I would. I had heard stories of internships at other companies where all you do is basic tasks not even applicable to your degree. That was not the case at Williams and it made all the difference for me. I was able to really get involved in projects instead of just watching from a distance. The professionals I worked with were great at giving advice and I was impressed with how friendly everyone was. Something that I think is really great about my experience with Williams is that my managers talk to me about my career goals. They know what I want for my future and they are helping me get there. The company is growing and Im growing with it. Thats a huge selling-point for me and its part of the reason why I chose Williams.

While going to school at Western Wyoming Community College, I interned with another company and figured Id probably end up working there, or another large company when I graduated. Id never considered Williams until I met Mike and Calvin at a job fair on campus. I ended up interviewing with several companies and found that the level of professionalism at Williams was much higher than the others. Unlike other companies, they took all my questions seriously. I ended up getting four job offers from Williams, Shell, Marathon and Anadarko. My wife and I had some questions and found that we had a hard time getting answers from every company but Williams. We wouldnt get calls returned or it would just take a long time to get a response back. But the guys at Williams were always quick to respond. I was really impressed with how they just did what they said they would do and in a reasonable amount of time. I chose Williams. Why? The offer was similar to the other companys offers. But, the difference for me was the people. During my internship at the other company, Id had the chance to meet some folks from Williams. I noticed they seemed much happier than the people I was working with. I took that as a sign of how my day would go if I worked at Williams Id be happy there.
